Your not very smart OP, you've obviously just gotten a bad vlc file that was either not tested to
work at all or got corrupted when you went to download it. I've never had a problem ever when
using a VLC player and I use it all the time.

No this is pretty typical for VLC especially for 1080p files.
I tried watching the new Neon Genesis blu-ray rip and it was unwatchable. The audio desynced and
had to be compensated. you couldn't fast forward it either because it fails at seeking on very
large files.
There's a reason this meme exists.

The actual reason for the VLC hate here is that VLC did/does not like the embed subtitles in
Chinese cartoons. I don't know if this has changed since 7 years ago.

Been using VLC for about 3 years watching shit like breaking bad/the walking dead and whatever
the flavor of the season is for anime. I've had this issue maybe twice, a span of about half an
hour or so over around 1,500-2,000 hours of use. VLC isn't terrible, it's not the best but I've
got no reason to go looking elsewhere yet.

Winamp anno 2015 is hardcore bloat, old versions are okay but lack a lot of core modern features.
Also generally old.
>>2770427
Foobar2k is pretty good, has a ton of customizability, runs everything and has a bunch of great
features. This means that it's kinda bloated, if you're looking for lightweight don't go foobar.
If you don't give a shit get foobar.

>>2770479
>>2770496
I was never crazy about foobar or the others back in the day. Winamp is just much more
streamlined, and good lookin. Plus classic skins are always fun and 15+ years of plugins to use.
The other bloated shit is basically gone since aol sold winamp off.
The only two things that winamp does but does poorly are flash files and videos. As for audio,
it's top notch.

That doesn't really make any sense for comparison, since foobar2k's entire concept is
customizability. If your foobar2k is ugly, it's your own fault.

And so, the vlc wars began.
It was a conflict that would end up wasting the time of many internet users evening, though it

It would take years before the world would once again return to the shithole it was before the

Honestly I might've spoken to quickly, I haven't looked at winamp since before I switched to
debian, which means at the latest 2012. I wouldn't be surprised if it has changed.
>>2770533
>I've smoked for 50 years now, not a spot on my lungs!
The problems are exaggerated, but real. It's just that the cost of switching is so low that it
amazes people that others are so insistent on using inferior software.
I'm no advanced user, and I haven't used windows in a while, but the only thing I recall VLC has
that MPC-HC doesn't have (or does better) is RTMP streaming. If you're not using that (or a
similar feature) then there's no reason to not use MPC-HC.
