the recaptcha has always used manpower to solve problems computers can't.
Before, every so often a word from a scanned historical text was snuck in, one that the computers
couldn't recognize and OCR automatically but did recognize was a word, it just couldn't read it,
or suspected it read it wrong due to poor shape matching or incorrect spelling.
Then they added things like house numbers and such from google maps streetview, to help align
houses with locations.
Now they've put us to better tagging photos for image searching.
Every so often it sneaks in a third one it suspects might fit the category. If you choose it, it
knows for certain that's a "dog" or "wine" or whatever now. If you don't, its likely something
else.

its this humongous block of gibberish alphanumeric text. if even one character is wrong,
including like spaces or whatever, it doesn't ignore those so you gotta be real careful about
what you hit, and its got two boxes, one that you get the code from after you solve the word, and
one that you paste it into, each the size of the normal quick-reply UI, but its still starting
from the same spot as a normal captcha and the box doesn't adjust so it goes way below it and
won't let you click on anything hidden under it like say the post button. If you scroll to the
bottom of a page, it just barely doesn't cover up the replies/images/posters/page numbers.
