Well, Hitler never really just went up and announced operation reinhardt to the open public.
While many Germans were aware of Jews being taken to internment camps, most were not aware that
they were actually being sent to death camps instead.
Just like how most US citizens aren't aware of tried CIA coups in other countries. Given that
Germany basically resigned itself to a dictatorship because of the power the Nazi party promised,
it really wasn't hard for them to cover this stuff up.
