I think others get in on it as part of a culture thing. Not knocking it, its just basically a meme. An /f/ only meme. Which is fitting since /f/ is the forgotten board. I'd been lurking 4chan for nearly 5 years before I opened /f/ for the first time. I havent gone a day without checking it since.
