In this case, "shipping" has to do with a fandom habit of putting two characters together in
hypothetical romantic situations. It's popular with the young'uns, apparently.
Slash, Fanfic, etc., are the 'old' way of saying just about the same thing. Not tumblr, per se,
though it happens there a lot. Even more so on DeviantArt.
