  I was a part of a Baptist church growing up and we thought any music with drums was evil. We sang
  congregational songs with only a piano. If someone wanted to play an instrument, they had to play
  the song for the pastor to verify it wouldn't "put people in the flesh".

  But we were a mostly white church. Maybe I would've turned out better if my church had some more
  color in it.
