Everything went wrong during the travel and I had to watch my crew die one by one in various accidents Every time someone got hit an asteroid / crushed by a module etc. their bright red blood splattered everywhere. After some hours everyone else had died and I had to abandon the ship as the whole thing was bombarded with all sort of spaceshit. Rest of the dream was just me alone, drifting through nothing in my spacesuit stained with the blood of my men. >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)11:30:03 No.2935484 >>2935449 tfw humanity will probably be gone before we manage that >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)11:31:06 No.2935485 >>2935469 + >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)12:21:42 No.2935508 >>2935469 +1 well memed my friend! >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)12:35:10 No.2935513 >>2935483 You didn't do the crew's optional story quests, of course they didn't fucking survive the last mission >not romancing the Quarian >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)12:43:04 No.2935517 >>2935459 That's why we, well, a collection of billionaires and private industry, are going to mine asteroids to create resources from space. This will initially, for the most part, be used to further mining in space and help build spaceports. After a while, those resources will also trickle down to the planet via dropships for use down here. Also, fun fact, efficient vertical farming systems can effectively feed 15 billion people on less land than we currently use for farming. Much less. So much less in fact that we'd only need a huge industrial-scale complex in each city to feed the entire city. Smaller towns and villages could be more central and have delivery, but that would still be better than full-on national or global travel for said food. Why do we not do it? We literally pay farmers to not make food right now. Our society is fucking broken at the core, that is why. Private industry is sadly the only thing that is going to change the way the world works, not government, not elections, nothing. Do your bit, help support private enterprise to further our future. >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)12:43:09 No.2935518 >>2935513 Eh it wouldn't make a difference to how the dream ended. By the third time you have the dream the only thing that changes is the colourscheme >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)13:21:01 No.2935535 To be truthful, we're probably closer to creating Artificial Intelligence at this point than developing super-light speed travel (if you think a solar sail will get us into the next closest star, you're fucking nuts). Development will be exponential at that point. There really is no telling how much can be discovered. Punching gravity in the dick only to pop wormholes around the galaxy could be child's fucking play to a quantum machine. The whole Skynet/terminator/whatever scenario is played out because that would assume (wrongfully) that an AI would seek to preserve itself. That's a biological thing, no computer is programmed with that. The scary thing about an AI thinking for us would be simply at what point do you define culture? Identity? Existence? If you have something else thinking and making decisions... What are we doing? >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)13:43:14 No.2935544 >>2935459 This is when the split in the world will happen, most will stay and a few will leave to create a new world. >> [_] Anonymous 10/25/15(Sun)14:24:31 No.2935560 >>2935517 The toppest of keks.
