Japan is such a shitty place to live in with such a godawful corporate culture. If you didn't
enroll in a 60-hours-a-week job right after graduating collage you're life is pretty much over.

Their cartoons are nice, but they don't even portrait an idealized world, it's all pure fantasy.
Japan is hell. Violent crime isn't as common as in the west, but organized crime is a very real
threat that often extorts and extracts "protection money" from entire city districts. Outside the
major urban centers it's actually pretty filthy, since people are much poorer than you'd imagine
for a country that tries so hard to portrait itself as "advanced". And Japanese culture is the
very opposite of friendliness (protip: as a general rule of thumb, the more polite a culture is,
the less genuinely friendly it is)
