I only watched fate/stay recently and really don't get the hype.
Rin tohsaka was a pretty good waifu but other than that, the protagonist was a fucking idiot and

The only F/SN you can watch is the recent UBW route, which was pretty good.
But you'll need to play it to get Heaven's Feel, so just play the entire VN and watch anime after.
