I've tried to save a couple of these flashes before, but I can never play them from my computer.
Anyone know why?

You probably downloaded a version that wasn't localized. For whatever reason the default version
of these flashes won't play unless it's hosted on a server like 4chan or the default server. This
version should work offline, any version with "local" in the filename should work offline when
saved. Granted, none of them will work if you don't have an internet connection because these are
just players that load the songs off another server, which is why they can be 45kb but hold over
600 songs apiece.
Here are the links for everything. The files are stored as m4a files because the site owner likes
m4a files. First link is the repository for all the files, second is the player which plays them.
If you just want to listen, then use this. You can't download the files through the player, you
have to go to the first links provided in that instance.

You could just download the rain track and play it in the background in your media player of
choice, it's titled Rainstorm by James Dueck. There's m4a and mp3 versions in the /mellow
subfolder of the /mu/ folder listed in >>3040467
