Why do you say that? Isn't evolution denial an actual problem in murrica?

No. 33 y/o from Texas, they taught evolution when I was a student. I have no fucking idea what
Bill Nye is talking about.
Once in a while, some politician will try to levy some creationism alternative, but only
footballers and retards take those classes.

Nye's comment is directed to those with such a screwed up world view either way. I dunno why he
does this. Even Dawkins stopped trashing creationism when he realized he was making them look
bigger than they are.

Thats really not true, In the rest of the United States, Evolution is treated like a lie fed to
us by the government to take our religion away. Its almost infuriating to hear college class
mates say the bible is all the proof they need, and that the earth is only 5000 years old.

Well... All I can say is go to a better university.
I went to Texas A&M, a fucking mecca for conservatism. I never, in my fucking life, had this
problem. It might be because the school has a class of 50,000 (harder to lie about shit). I
dunno. But the idea that evolution is rejected by Americans is stupid. To the educated, it is not.

I can empathize with your viewpoint. It may seem like this is a non issue when you're around
others who are educated, but there is still a large (majority in some states) amount of people
who this is still an issue for.

I grew up in Australia and I really don't see the "intellectual" crap Bill Nye is going on about
in America.
There are great things happening all over the globe scientifically and I learned about basic
biology, meteorology, chemistry etc etc before going into any sort of higher education.
The crap Bill Nye goes on about is barely even that intellectual comparing it to the subjects I
learned in school which is all about "best guess" and never assuming something is 100% correct or
right - always question everything.
If Americans are being taught that something is 100% right and something else is 100% wrong with
no second guessing or questioning then simply put: the American education system is flawed and
the country is filled with unimaginative biased bigots.

creationists dont teach evolution well apparently. who could have guessed.
At my university, it was the footballers and retards who took the religion classes, shying away
from courses like philosophy or the hard sciences. But then, I didn't grow up in the bible belt
and don't have a hard time understanding basic concepts like evolution

>to the educated
that's the problem. The people that Bill is talking about are uneducated, and refuse to be. Then
they pass that same willful ignorance on to their kids.
