i forgot how /f/ could sometimes not be a pile of degenerated japanese gayporn techno remixes,
somehow even a place for meaningful things.

I don't understand why he couldn't come to terms with it. It was either the boy or him. He saved
himself and maybe even a soldier or two. He survived. That in itself justifies the death of one
boy, doesn't it?

You can deconstruct these sorts of events as such. But imagine shooting a kid - it's simply
something you could never forget, you'd wish it never happened. Like if you were driving a car
and suddenly the wheel locked up and caused you to run over a kid, you'd still be devastated even
though it wasn't your fault.

>I don't understand. why don't depressed people just, STOP being depressed?
>why don't people with anxiety just, CALM DOWN?
>why don't people with PTSD just, COME TO TERMS WITH IT?

When you look a dead man right in the face, the "it was me or him" justification doesn't hold up
too well. It's different than shooting down a plane in a dogfight, or shooting a guy who's more
than 100 yards away, this was right in front of him. You can imagine the image of that dead
soldiers face was burned into his memory for the rest of his life.
