You can't make good music without knowing music theory. Talent plays less of a role than pure knowledge does when making electronic music. It really helps to learn piano or guitar while studying music. Also, polyphony is a big thing in electronic music. That is two or more simultaneous lines of independent melody. Might be worth checking out JS Bach's works and transcribing the melodies with FLStudio.
