My guess is you're trying to suggest we all install Adobe Flash so we can start making original content for /f/. But I thought flash was more or less a dying medium at this point. >> [_] Anonymous 05/20/16(Fri)23:02:43 No.3084623 >>3084616 Honestly, I'd be down to make /f/ stuff but instructions like >>3084614 intimidate the crap outta me >> [_] Anonymous 05/20/16(Fri)23:33:12 No.3084640 >>3084623 i'm not >>3084614 but i'd like to help interpret some of the more confusing points of this posts. The hosts file is under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc this file was originally created as a manual kind of DNS (domain name system). DNS was a service used to associate web addresses (www.google.com) to IP addresses (216.58.194.164) way back when. Nowadays, it's used to redirect website traffic, block websites on singular computers, and a few other niche functions. if you open this file in notepad or really any text editor, you'll find a list addresses and their respective IP addresses. if you put an entry in, anytime someone tries to access a website that matches an entry, it will redirect it to the IP address within this hosts file before checking for any matching addresses online. adding 127.0.0.1 to those websites creates an off the network loop (like plugging a power outlet into itself) that cuts off adobe's methods of validating a license. this means you won't get prompted for a license key. most of the steps in here are very typical of a torrent and were probably accidentally pasted in by anon. >> [_] Anonymous 05/21/16(Sat)01:34:30 No.3084711 >>3084623 Alternatively, you can just get an older version like CS3 on ebay for next to nothing like I did. |
