Correct. That's something used quite often actually.
A slight contrast simply looks better in drawings.
Everybody not getting that should take another look at his Shantae flash.
It just so happens that most of the pretty females in 'media' are white or at least 'not black'.
Apart from Shantae I can't even come up with one right now... and she's more brown than black.
However: That has nothing to do with racism either.
Black girls are simply not attractive for the majority of people. Even most black guys prefer at
least lighter skin tones.
It's money what's involved here. Simple as that.
Why would you make a character people don't like? You want to earn money after all.
For example, concerning both this and the skin juxtaposing:
Look at 'The walking dead', the telltale game. Does Clementine look 'black' to you?
In the first game she was almost white and the main character of the game (was the name Lee?) was a
black guy.
Next game Clem suddenly got a lot darker and the new guy looking after her was white.
See where I'm going with this?
