we nuked japan to save between 100,000 to 1,000,000 american and several million japanese lives.
did you know even after both hiroshima and nagasaki were destroyed they still didn't give up? we
sent over 1000 planes (~880 bombers ~150 fighters) over the imperial palace to get the point
across 1 airplane needed per city, see how many airplanes we got... they were teaching
schoolgirls how to use bamboo as pikes, since their battleship had been sunk they were digging
holes to put their 18 inch shells and a man with a hammer as anti armor/personel mines... they
simply would not have stopped had the emperor not stopped them....

  THATS why we nuked japan

>> [_] Anonymous 06/03/16(Fri)13:25:07 No.3092565

and most people don't know but we dropped warning pamphlets 2 weeks before on like 10 cities

sad that Americans haven't eliminated every single Japs and gooks living in this earth. Two nukes
wasn't enough. Tell me why we haven't nuked Middle East yet.

too true juust a bit autie about history cuz too few know what happened and those that don't know
  are doomed to repeat it

>> [_] Anonymous 06/03/16(Fri)14:06:05 No.3092593

those that don't know are doomed to repeat it or worse make wrong conclusions about how to
portray it today.. like we as a society actually want to go kill people ( a few do, and a few
more make profits off that) we really just want to be left alone to live our lives

Since then they've forgotten how to reproduce, their economy is going down the drain and
pedophiles have become a legit target audience. In retrospect bathing the country in nuclear fire
would've been an act of mercy.

you know that whole pedo thing? I kinda see it like this... here the age of consent is 18 and
guys like the whole sweet 16 thing well iirc there the age of consent is 13 (old enough to bleed
old enough to breed) so if you take the 2 years off you end up in pedo land

The nukes weren't even that bad compared to the firebombings which killed far more, in just as
horrific ways and in greater number.

Hell I heard stories about how the blazes were so hot that giant vortexes of fire started pulling
in more and more air from the surrounding area till the blaze was roaring hot enough to twist and
melt the few steel structures that were in the area (the majority of the construction was old and
  nearly entirely wood)

You do realize that's nothing but propaganda, right? The Japanese people were just as sick and
tired of the war as anyone else. We dropped the bomb because we could and because we wanted to
show it off. Plain and simple.

you're a 4channer and I have seen source documents... yes there is no real way to tell what the
deathtoll would be but seeing what happened at siapan I am more inclined to believe the source
docs... the japanese can be a formidable foe don't underestimate them even today with a feminized
culture you start pounding a war drum or have the emperor announce an edict I wouldn't want to
face them in a ground war

on two more notes; many military historians say that if the battle of kursk would have happened a
week earlier the us and japan would have never went to war and that if the japanese embassy had
been fully staffed it would not have been a sneak attack there would have been like an hour
  between declaration and attack

if any was thinking there ws any other way to stop the japanese look at this quote

"Gradually, intelligence learned that the Japanese were devoting all
their aircraft to the kamikaze mission and taking effective measures to conserve them until the
battle. An Army estimate in May was 3,391 planes; in June, 4,862; in August, 5,911. A Navy
estimate, abandoning any distinction between training and combat aircraft, in July was 8,750; in
  August, 10,290. "
