File: fair use on youtube.swf-(9.76 MB, 1280x704, Other)

for some reason i got it into my head that i wanted to share this with you guys despite the
length.
at first my plan was to cut away most of the irrelevant things he's saying but i canned that idea
since it would take too much work and most of you isn't interested anyway. i put a bunch of
keyframes in there instead so you can skip ahead when he strays off-topic (press right arrow key).
the abundance of keyframes makes the visuals look like shit even though the framerate is low but
the audio is what's important.
he goes on for quite a bit, i don't think most people will have enough of an attention span to
listen but if you do have an hour over you can put this on in the background.
the reason why i thought it was interesting is because it provides an old-fashioned business view
on the whole "fair use" thing going on with the youtube community right now and it's basically
the reverse of what the mainstream popular opinion is. im not too active on youtube myself but i
know people like to jump on the bandwagon so i thought spreading some alternative ideas could be
nice.

Of course you can watch it over there instead:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPfhufoAfNw
That video is 1hour 21min long... The cut I made is 00:16:50 to 01:03:27.
He doesn't script these videos so they go on forever and has repetitions and off-topic things in
them. A bit of a pity since the messages won't reach that many people, but on the other hand if
he had to put more effort into making them they might not get made in the first place.

that was fast, wanted >>3090734 to be the first comment.
well, i did say "for some reason". i know this isn't for everybody. anyway, the whole "fair use"
thing isn't strictly for youtube. it kinda involves the whole internet, it's not like there
aren't any youtubers here and it's not like there aren't any 4channers over there. that's why i
thought it was relevant.

OP I don't know how much space the audio or images are taking up but it would be much better at
this point to make a flash with the audio and scrapping the video in favor of vector graphics or
constructing diagrams with images.
>>3090764
I'm on chrome and it works for me.

yeah the visuals really are horrid. at first they turned out really good and clear but then i
discovered that there was like 5 minutes between keyframes so you couldn't seek well in the
video. i had to change it to basically have a keyframe every frame, which ruins the algorithm
that H.264 uses to produce its quality. at that point i just went "fuck it" and let it be like
this since the audio is all that's important anyway and i knew any more effort put into the flash
would just be wasted here anyway (i would have received the complaining posts no matter what).
