>> [_] Anon 2868857 Swords are not "better" than spears, faggot. In an open space, a spear has a huge range advantage on a sword. A sword guy versus a spear guy is almost guaranteed to die unless they're in a tight space where using the spear normally is literally impossible.

It also means wielding it lower down the haft is more problematic because you have a more limited range of movement, the butt of your spear's gonna be hitting the wall if you aren't careful. Open spaces are good for 1v1 for spears, and in a limited sense for mass fights too, where you have lots of buddies to stick close to you.
