People demonized him for raising the prices to unaffordable levels (even with insurance) and being a smug jackhole about it. He's a smug asshole but he's very much an attention whore and he knows it. And desu famalam I'd probably publicly shitpost all day too if I made the money he makes. >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:26:31 No.3157530 >>3157528 oh shit, he's that faggot? man, can you imagine how 4chan would be with him in charge. we are probably a lot better off with hiro >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:36:30 No.3157534 >>3157530 Well here's the thing, that's always going to be the ultimate conundrum when it comes to 4chan: Who should own it? m00t was a faggot but he ran it well and was every bit a piece of 4chan until the last year or two when he seemed to look past it. Hiroshima seemed to do well with the transition but there's still concerns about personal information and cash flow. I doubt Shkreli is serious, but that does raise a lot of questions about how profitable 4chan should be. It's best years were when it made little money and culture was self-contained and small. People still complain about Captcha, and I fear the day when we'll have: 4chan, brought to you by Burger King and Home Depot "Let's do something together". >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:42:29 No.3157543 >>3157534 I've always respected moot for not using popups. He said it himself that if he had done that he could probably have afforded to buy an attack helicopter if he wanted to. Especially pre-2015, when adblockers wasn't as common. Not many could resist that temptation. I think Hiro is just trying to soften us up so that when he finally do implement popups people will be all like "thank god we got to keep our board" instead of pissed off over the popups filled with viruses. >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:46:53 No.3157548 >>3157543 m00t definitely always put 4chan and it's users first. I'm still very hurt by his switching in allegiance near the end of his reign, but you can't ignore the fact that for nearly 10+ years he managed to run a site with minimal outside intrusion, influence, or ad intrusion. Still, with 4chan adspace being pushed and 4chan Pass now a thing, I kind of fear that it's only a matter of time before 4chan becomes just another Facebook mess. >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:48:53 No.3157550 >>3157528 Well, if he's such an asshole why are people hyping that tweet so much?, it's some kind of meme or something? >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:51:28 No.3157551 >>3157504 /f/ is swarmed with /pol/ and /b/ these days. >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:53:37 No.3157554 >>3157550 /pol/ loves shkreli because he's a "le epic memester praise kek" as they'd say and /pol/ is very loud which is why you saw people happy about it. >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)22:57:07 No.3157558 >>3157551 This is true. We straight ran him off. Imagine if moot deleted /l/ and the old /g/ today, instead of when he did. Imagine all the shitposters screaming bloody murder. Don't even deny they'd act like it was the end of the world. The fact is moot didn't change with how he handled 4chan, 4chan changed. And then we (and by we I mean /pol/) attacked him til he got fucking fed up and went to live a real life. We ran off the only person dumb enough and compassionate enough to pay for this site out of pocket. Whatever happens now is just karma. >> [_] Anonymous 10/02/16(Sun)23:14:19 No.3157579 >>3157571 Towards the end it was clear moot had started mixing with the SJW crowd though, perhaps he got rid of himself as a final favor to us? Sort of like someone ending themselves before turning into a zombie. |
