Right, so, don't enjoy your free time. Find ways to make sure you have no free time at all even
if it's doing something so obviously not for most like building tables. Because feeling useful is
more important than enjoying your life.
I'd know how to fix my fridge if it were one of the 5 appliances I owned that costs a shit ton of
money along with my car and TV, but this isn't the 60s. I'd rather pay some dude 140 bucks to fix
it in an hour than waste 20 hours of my life learning to fix it and still having to spend 60-80
on parts, and with that extra free time I can either enjoy or search for a hobby that I actually
like.
If his point were that spending all of your time on a singular hobby and taking it too seriously
is pathetic I might have agreed with him because I certainly find it pathetic when a grown man's
only ambition in life revolves around a wife, children, or his career, but that's not his point
at all.
I'd bet the phony doesn't know how to landscape, farm, sharpen a blade, maintain a rifle, shave
with a straight razor, fix a computer, insulate a wall, install an electrical conduit, basic
automotive maintenance, how to fight, how to build and maintain a muscular physique, or any of my
other hobbies he might consider as what a manly man does, but I can do all of that for fun and
still have time to play some video games after a 40+ hr work week in between continuously looking
for new hobbies.
So, what the fuck is he spending all of his spare time with that he considers video games too
childish to even humor the thought that their entertainment value could linger on to adulthood...
Arguing with people on the internet I'd wager which is something his grandpappy would surely
understand and admire.
