Windows at its prime was on over 95% of internet browsing pc's
there was literally no point in developing viruses for other systems,
Since most were for profit Spyware or adware to make a quick buck,
The fucking up of your pc was meant to make it difficult to remove them whilst you reluctantly
used your pc or just overwhelming it.
As for crashing mostly software and hardware microsoft had no control over,
Macs were like Nintendo hardly anyone developed for it and no one else built them.
Linux until windows vista was well known and hardly used.
