If you don't have one, your missing out on some real easy good food. Your going to need a boneless pork roast "pork picnic" or whatever your local butcher or market wants to call it Make sure at least one side has a 1/4" thick side of fat on it Seriously if its too lean it will just be rubbery shit Also needing: Paprika Salt Pepper (optional garlic powder and mustard powder) 2-3 Tbsp canola, veg oil or butter (if going the butter route keep the temp a little on the lower side and double up) Brown sugar White vinegar Mustard Ketchup BBQ sauce (honey spicy types are my choice) 1/2 Cup water or chicken stock (I do either it really doesn't seem to make much of a difference) (These parts should be done before getting shitfaced) Take that hunk of pork and score the fat carving diagonally one way and then the other Avoid cutting twine holding it together your going to want it to stay together for this next few steps Rub seasoning all over that porker like really get it in there Get all of the sides and roll it around in whatever fell off Get a large pan med/high hot and add oil lay the porker fat side down and walk away for 5 min After the fat looks nice and brown crispy roughly seer each side for 2-3 min Transfer the hunk to the crock pot leaving the juices in the pan (we aren't done with them yet) Add to the pan: Brown sugar - 1/4 cup (1/2 Cup - 1/3 if you've got a sweet tooth) Vinegar 1/4 cup Touch more salt and pepper Stir in 2 Tbsp mustard and 2 Tbsp Ketchup Stir until smooth Pour over porker Close lid and set to high proceed to get black out drunk Wake up hours later in a haze smelling delicious porky goodness Pull pork apart, let sit for 30 Stir bbq sauce to taste with 1 Tbsp flour and serve with buns/rolls or just eat it I recommend putting in on potato rolls and topping with banana peppers.
