>updates ending
Incorrect now.
WinXP is still being updated to the day via PoS version of XP.
A simple registry edit will allow it to continue updating.
It's even free to download on their website.
Also, him saying about other software support is sort of pointless.
Photoshop, for example, still uses the exact same file format regardless of version. (besides
maybe extremely old ones with lack of support for some newer formats)
I don't think recent ones added anything of significance.
Office, meanwhile, had some weird newer file format. Of course, I don't think that will matter
even then since I am sure they added that well before they stopped releasing XP Office releases.
The only major issues with XP is lack of driver support and a few programs that might have added
new features since stopping releases.
Equally some games that depend on shitty DirectX.
Even viruses for XP still affect recent versions of Windows and even Linux and MacOS.
They are all hardware hacks that can only be prevented by buying the newest processors that
removed some shit legacy feature that could get root permissions on any OS by tricking the TPM.

No worry, Anon! Windows 10™ will be the last operating system you will ever need! It's a wonder
you don't use it yet. Do you not have $100 dollars to move over to Windows 10™? Because you have
absolutely no reason to refuse perfection!

joke aside anyone can get windows 10 for free just by pretending to be handicapped. they really
just want people to change. sad part is im not even trusting MS with windows 7 anymore and have
stopped windows update.

I stopped updating years ago on win 8.1, mainly due to the fact that the updates don't even
fucking work and can very easily brick your fucking system, but also because half of the
"updates" just add more malicious shit and telemetry or otherwise fuck up compatibility.
Now, if only there were an open source Windows.

I would start using linux, but I was a fucking retard and installed a distro of Arch on an NTFS
partition, and I can't be assed to shove open source NTFS drivers into the kernel.
At least you don't really have to do this shit with Windows, even though it never fucking works.

Even if software is still available to windows XP up to this day, the small percentage of users
means that developers will no longer care about windows XP and they will no longer care about
supporting old verisons of libraries which are not developer with windows XP in mind, which means
that more and more bugs and errors will happen with new versions, which in turn means security
errors.
So yes, it's not pointless.
