  If anything, trips caused more shitposting, which was funny. 4chan is mostly boring now.
  But menchi and moot wanted to turn this place in to a TOP-TIER discussion forum. They won.

  Good content still gets regularly created today, just less noticed.
  In fact, it probably gets created just as much as it did back then, but it mostly gets drowned
  out in considerably more accessible and easier to create content, such as templates and simple
  bitmap editors like Paint.
  Same with the anime industry, or games industry, or any industry besides music. Music is a weird
  one. There's always one faggot bending the rules. Even in physics. (woops, my bad, will fix it in
  the next patch)

  This is why I have always been for, and still am for, splitting boards up.
  When /vg/ was created, it massively improved both /v/ (and /vg/) after everyone settled within
  half a year and got over the shitposting "ha ha new board" phase.
  Fast boards are anti-quality. Threads die too quickly so you can't create decent content in time,
  so quality drops dramatically.
  This is why Generals became common. (which spread to non-creative threads, then circle-jerking,
  then whining, then hilarity , then more whining, then bans, thread derailed, deleted)
  Most people on this site, given time, would create better content if they knew a thread would
  actually last more than 10 minutes without falling in to the abyss of page 10 (or 5, or 15, or 3,
  or whatever the fuck else there is)
  Man, I miss when the server shit itself and you ended up seeing the page listing in the hundreds
  of pages. I wonder if moot ever cleared those hidden cached pages on /b/
