>> [_] Anon 3016389 I think it falls kind of flat for several reasons. 1. The retro aesthetic makes it too distant. Is it trying to be historical footage from decades past unearthed today? It's hard to find it unsettling when the supposed event would have taken place decades ago and yet we don't find ourselves in an apocalyptic landscape becoming of whatever vague happening has already happened. 2. Whatever the event is, it falls into a kind of lame middleground between reality and supernatural to where it doesn't exploit either angle well. Like for instance, those "WE INTERRUPT YOUR PROGRAMMING BECAUSE OF A NUCLEAR ATTACK" PSAs are more unsettling because they reflect something that REALLY exists, somebody really had to make those and its terrifying to imagine what it would be like to see those in a real life situation.From the more supernatural angle that youtube video like this with the "STRANGE METEOROLOGICAL EVENT IN YOUR AREA" You don't know what it's suppose to be and the bizarreness is what makes it unsettling. In this video I guess America was defeated by conventional arms, somebody hijacked the station? Whatever the case it's too outlandish to be disturbing from a serious standpoint and too lame to be unsettling from a supernatural standpoint. 3. The music & text tries too hard to be disturbing. The siren of a NATIONAL EMERGENCY BROADCAST would have suited the tone better than the broken recording of the national anthem, and brevity would have served the announcements better. It spells out too much while simultaneously not telling enough. It wasn't terrible, but I couldn't get into it.
