Video content in general has been posted here for many years.
Flash video is a part of this boards regular content and culture.
There are many "video flashes" which are quite beloved in this community and have become a part
of the culture.
Obviously the board is a mix of many things including lots of old school flash animations, games
and other shit along with some video content but again its a mix of ALL those things.
No reason to get rustled over a long standing aspect of it. And its hardly just Maddox there is
and endless array of videos that have and still get posted here from every imaginable type of
thing from anime to maddox to fucking animal videos and a billion other things.
Personally I like the board being a mix and I think it keeps the board somewhat fresh and active.
If only old school flash animations were allowed here the board might die or it would hardly ever
move. I don't say video should dominate the board but allowing some video is I think quite
healthy.

Yes I know this. It still doesn't detract from that fact that people often rip youtube videos at
worse quality than is on youtube and should really have stayed there, like maddox, gavin and
things like that dragon ball super review. I don't care so much that it's video but that video
conversion often encourages people to be lazy about what they put on /f/ a la "oh this funny
vine, I'll make a flash out of it!" and so on.

I doubt that one, there's only about 10 video flashes up right now, the gifs with sound loops
don't count for this.

Not saying there shouldn't be video on /f/, but when people just turn a bunch of youtube videos
into flashes it's a bad choice.

I think you're underestimating the effort people make into providing those videos.
The Gavin and Maddox video's from what I saw were actually ripped rather well and it is clear
that whoever made them put in a great deal of effort to get the best possible quality and
probably encoded the files multiple times in an effort to do so which can be time consuming and
is boring.
That is a great deal different then lazy anon's who use click & convert programs to quickly turn
youtube videos into smaller & blocky awful looking versions and then quickly post them.
So while your original point was actually valid the examples you used, I think, were poor.
And regarding what belongs or doesn't belong that seems more like a thing of personal taste and
it isn't that hard to ignore flashes of any type that you dislike.
Almost all of us when visiting are usually going to see a few flashes that simply do not appeal
to us.
