Well that was a heart breaker. Especially for me. Unfortunately this is the day that marks my
retirement. For the last four and a half years I've tested and toiled over stupid AI kicking
around a ball and trying to generate the best results possible. I put myself through endless
nights and days of horrific play trying to piece the seemingly eternal puzzle together. And with
it constantly shifting and changing it became only more and more difficult to adjust. I took a
gamble with a 3-4-3 this season because I wasn't gonna field the 4-3-3 again after the 6-1 result
against /o/ and came up with jack shit. And for you /f/ellas the fans that eternally believed I
apologize that I fell short of your beliefs and expectations. For a board that has entertained me
for years I only wanted to return the gesture with great matches.
Part of me stepping down is a nagging section of myself that says you all deserve so much better.
Because there's not much that will convince me that /f/ hasn't always been the best board on
4chan. But also the cup in itself has grown on me in such a way that I only wanted to do more and
more for the fans of the cup. Which is why I chose to stream the babbies in the first place. And
part of my comfort in bad seasons is that there will always be a new one to start fresh, with new
ideas and the comfort of everything going back to 0. And I wanna continue to provide that comfort
not only for the /f/ans but also all the other boards as well. That the dawn of a new season will
always arrive.
I might be able to run polls or do pre-cup testing but from here on I don't think my involvement
with the team will be but now more than ever if people wanna help out please get in touch. With
myself or Smudgey.
While this is it for me the past four and a half years have been a rollercoaster of ups and
downs, twists and turns, and if I could do it all again I would.

I let Smudgey make the call on whether or not he wanted to manage against /c/. He said he did
want to do it. And in all fairness I agree. I personally feel like I'd be selfish to manage that
match as my "Last Ride" when he needs the experience in live situations

It's just tough to carry onward. Four and a half years is a long time to be looking at AI vs AI
test after test. To learn everything you can in the span of a short time and then throw that
knowledge out to start completely a new is a helluva thing to need to adapt to. And when the
strikers are suddenly shit and can't aim at anything except the goalkeeper it's tough to work
around especially when all that you try just crumbles horribly.

If you guys nag at me enough when the team's back in the elites I'll come back to manage. But for
now I gotta step aside. I'll still do pre-cup testing and polls if the mod doesn't decide to ban
me again. And I'll also give who ever is managing advice and hints. It'd be a big help to Smudgey
if someone who could do in cup testing with him to give him a hand. No one should go solo for as
long as I did.
