Books can be bad for the same reasons of course. >> [_] Bill Nye the science man 02/15/17(Wed)18:00:37 No.3215487 >>3215484 >95% Come on man, it's not THAT bad. It's that bad if you watch a news channel, sure, but the majority of other TV channels are not even remotely political a quarter of the time. That including TV shows created explicitly to shove X down your throat, be it the new hot fad of the year such as refugees, or trans helicopters, and probably fucking terrorists this year. I wouldn't be surprised. ("it's just their culture man! They like blowing things up!") TV is HARDLY a problem with this. The internet is VASTLY more toxic to peoples minds than TV has ever been in its entire history. Echo chambers are considerably more damaging because they are interactive. More to the point, "intelligently interactive", in that the feedback you get is that of reality, rather than artificial intelligence in violent videogames and such, which people (mostly) know is fake. >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)18:06:12 No.3215488 >>3215487 news are 100% shit, there's no discussion about that the 95%, excluding news, are the other shows, mainly reality shows the 5% in my eyes are quiz shows with tv "celebrities" who are genuinly funny >> [_] Bill Nye the science man 02/15/17(Wed)18:09:18 No.3215490 >>3215488 Can't deny that, I love me some quiz and comedy variety shows. I'm just sad the variety show has sort of died off in western areas more and more in the past few decades. I've had to turn to Gaki no Tsukai for my variety fix. Plus, the Japanese just fucking don't care about PC faggots and their whining. (for the most part) >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)18:10:24 No.3215491 >>3215487 Ok, maybe 95% is too high but it is still alot. Not just news. Its most of the sitcoms, reality TV shows etc... and alot of the programming is subtle and interspersed so its not like the show has to be based around it to be part of the problem. its about the perspective of things... And while both TV & Internet can be toxic I think when used in moderation the internet is a far healthier medium because it is democratic and allows more perspectives (due to a natural variety of real people) and even if all the news sites online are agenda based to some extent atleast being able to see news from different ideological views makes it easier to see more sides of things and form a clearer more accurate view rather then just parroting mainstream news which really is propoganda for the most part >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)18:15:38 No.3215493 I also like how in my shitty country all commercial breaks are sync'd so when the commercial break hits there are commercial breaks everywhere on every channel >> [_] Bill Nye the science man 02/15/17(Wed)18:27:28 No.3215497 >>3215496 This is what happens when you let Corporatism run your economy. It always leads to oligopolies absorbing any competition. Either that or wiping them entirely out by deliberately creating cheap competition and taking a dent in their profits solely to destroy said competition. Microsoft have done this for 20 years now. The west is fucked because of all these megacun--corps. All these views of a future governed by corporations wasn't supposed to be a guide. >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)20:11:11 No.3215550 >>3215490 I get my Variety TV fix from the internet, youtube's got some great content if you're willing to stick your head in a little farther than the front page >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)21:48:20 No.3215576 >>3215448 My mother blacklisted nearly all television, and especially anime (for animism type stuff, among other things). I am a bit sad because I would have enjoyed ghibli type stuff immensely (for all the aviation stuff) when I was young. However, I read a lot as a child which may have been better for me academically. It is hard to say. >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)21:49:22 No.3215578 >>3215484 You can choose not to watch dumb shit. >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)21:58:02 No.3215579 >>3215578 kinda hard to do when atleast some demented social propoganda is baked into most shows but yeah I guess some shows are fine. maybe some science shows, some real estate shows about buying property, maybe some sports, maybe poker and golf shows really though as I said most of whats on TV is trash shitty shows or shitty modern movies the decent stuff is rare >> [_] Anonymous 02/15/17(Wed)22:03:31 No.3215580 >>3215576 Dear god, that post is extremely repetitious.
