No file extensions: File extensions are completely arbitrary wastes of space and the idea of tying you down to one program for each file type is dumb, simply probing a file with the `file` command can tell you 100* more than a file extension and is just as fast when scrolling through a folder 2. The registry: Instead of needing proprietary bullshit that requires 1000 lines of Pajeet code to interact with anything, GNU/Linux uses files for literally everything as it provides a nice standard to allow everything to interact seamlessly without having to write thousands of lines of glue to get two things talking. As far as the naming schemes go, once you work with it for at least a week (something this author clearly did not) it all starts to make sense Linux subscribes to recall over recognition, it treats the user as capable and expects them to be able remember naming schemes and shortcuts as well as concise commands. It might be fun typing out `copy` because it's easy to remember to the first 20 times but after a year or so you'd much rather type `cp` Ok this is /f/ not /g/ I can't really be fucked going on but real quick: GNU/Linux font rendering is objectively 100 times better than Windows font rendering, this isn't even up for debate go check google images At least with GNU/Linux you have a choice of what kind of window manager you want not just "here's DWM, it's shit and crashes all the time but have fun lol" "hurr durr da communists don't want da NSA backdoors in the systems" isn't getting dignified with a proper response |
