It's typical corporate thinking: we have a loyal established user base, now we can start screwing them. And they fuck it up for everyone; those loyal users grow disillusioned and migrate, and the corporate entity then loses that loyal, established user base they decided they could exploit. >> [_] Anonymous 04/04/17(Tue)14:20:23 No.3231529 >>3231503 This guy completely doesn't address something in this video - the headphone jack itself. It's an ancient, over 100 year old (seriously) analog standard for carrying audio information that WE DON'T WANT TO BE USING 100 YEARS FROM NOW does every accessory need to use the proprietary apple port? NO. There is another option, being wireless, which is what apple is encouraging here - that is what they mean by courage. They are trying to drive change in the industry by removing the shitty analog jack. No, I don't agree with apple's decision to do this so suddenly and to not do it across the board - their macbook's still have an audio jack. But the headphone jack used today has many downsides and plenty of better options exist already - just because it's popular is not a good enough excuse to continue using it. If that was the case than innovation would never occur. >> [_] Anonymous 04/04/17(Tue)14:43:01 No.3231533 >>3231529 Well, they could have fazed it out, by allowing both the wireless and the jack. >> [_] Anonymous 04/04/17(Tue)16:06:10 No.3231546 >>3231529 >their macbook's (sic) still have an audio jack. Think about it, Mackbook is a tiny fraction of their income base. Their bread and butter is the mobile device market. Where would YOU focus your gold-digging efforts? (Apple also has roughly 8-10 percent share of the computer market, so this dilutes the impact of Macbook on Apple's Pavlovian nerve as well). >It's an ancient, over 100 year old (seriously) analog standard for carrying audio information |
