  second scenario I've noticed the bear was exchanged for the armor but that was about it

  And yeah, as with most non-overtaking accidents, it's often at least partly their fault.
  Accidents in the city where one side is 100% at fault are pretty damn rare. Everyone should be
  aware of what's happening on the road, not just drivers. Just because they move at a lower speed
  doesn't mean they're free from any responsibilities and don't have to pay attention at all times.
  Hell, they actually have a better chance at avoiding an incoming crash due to how easy it is to
  brake. They're also a tiny little bike that's not even half as easily visible as a car. It's in
  their best interest to be careful, especially when they're the squishy ones.
  I'm thoroughly fed up with retarded "hurr others should watch out for me" cyclists not giving a
  single fuck and constantly weaving between the sidewalk and the road, suddenly turning right in
  front of your hood or zipping past crossings out of the blue. Pay fucking attention and think,
  all the time. A cyclist is as much a part of the traffic as anyone else.

  obviously the most ideal result comes from everybody being careful. "Should cyclists or drivers
  be careful?" isn't a real question, road safety is generally considered a good thing by anyone.

  been run over or killed because someone wasn't watching me cross literally right in front of them
  or by dicks who run stop signs or try to race me... while I'm crossing an intersection.
