So the latest Firefox update killed my Flash. I can still view them on /f/ for now but can't open
files on my PC with it anymore. Having to use MPC which works but breaks some of the games.

Feels bad bros. I never really had feels when Winamp and some of the other classics died out but
they're actively trying to take SWF out to the back shed, put it down and pretend like it doesn't
  exist.

Just ranting I guess, sorry for the personal blog.

You're sad that proprietary software is getting phased out? Sounds as sheepish as it was
demanding pepsi to bring back crystal pepsi.

I had this problem for a while.
  I have a solution:
  1)go in about:config
  2) search for "plugins.http_https_only"
  3)make it "false"
  4)reboot firefox

  enjoy

Not a permanent solution. Firefox & co. are doing everything in their power to phase out flash,
proprietary or not. None of this is going to even be feasible come FF 57. No user.js is going to
  save you from the inevitable.

If you're using MPC for flash games, remember to remap your keys (if you want to use all of them)
  view -> options -> keys

I had same problem here was my solution
  https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

  1. Installed firefox 43.00.1 (older version of firefox which is also better: shows download
duration in small inside browser and support alot of plugins, pixiv downloader my spider tools
  and flash)
  2. For programs that require newer browser I use not firefox I use IE for example for web skype

  IMPORTANT THING I FORGOT:
In about:config disable automatic firefox updates

  app.update.auto - false
  app.update.enabled - false
  app.update.silent - false

You might need to set a switch in about:config also to enable old plugins like the pixiv
downloader. but its easy and works

There's your problem. You actively choose shitty software and then refuse to update when the

That is the most absurdly stupid argument I've ever seen. What makes you think that any of us are
Windows 10? We're talking about Firefox here. Not Windows 10. That's a false equivalency. This
may not have occurred to you, but Firefox is cross platform, and Mozilla is its own sovereign
entity with its own values and priorities. The point was that Firefox DOES in fact support Flash
up until 2020, so it's totally absurd to postpone updates because you can't play Flash, because
it isn't Firefox that's the issue. The detriment that comes from using an older version of
Firefox is significantly greater than the effort it takes to simply subvert the measures the
project has taken to prevent Flash usage from normal users.

If you don't agree with the direction a project is going, don't use their software. Use someone
else's. There are dozens of browsers on the market, and I'm not exaggerating. Dozens. Some of
them even support NPAPI. Furthermore, there are solutions out there that don't even require Adobe
Flash. Like, for example LightSpark? Which is in active development.

You have so many options, and yet somehow the appropriate solution for you is just to use an
older version of a piece of software? What?

  >>3279199
  That isn't even an argument.

Not just firefox... chrome is also working on this (which they should).
However, in the meantime you can use the STANDALONE flash player to watch local files.
  Available for Linux as well.
