things got better and better from the 80's through to about '01 where it has been going downhill
in a nosedive since.
the .com bubble was great, the U.S. had a budget SURPLUS instead of a debt.
tech was exciting and new instead of "samething S7". the future looked like it would be a
peaceful, technological wonderland out of some scifi cartoon.
America seemed like it would never stop being awesome and people were proud.
