[_] Will we still exchange swf files in 2025? Anonymous 07/28/17(Fri)14:32:20 No.3267452
Sure we will always be able to get a program that can play an SWF on a desktop pc.
but web browsers?
we will need to develop our own code to add the flash plugin, with blackjack and hookers!

There are two open source flash players. Gnash for AS1/AS2 which is the majority of loops and
movies (almost everything is AS1/AS2 on swfchan) and lightspark for AS3 which is used mostly for
games.
gnash works pretty well except with interactive flash it's not that good.
lightpsark is a clusterfuck though. I'm currently trying to fix the play button of the game
"balloon in a wasteland" you can only click on the 1 pixel thick outline right now. I already
have solved the problem but I don't know if this is going to break other flash games.

Better research those figures better, much OLD shit is AS1/2, but the vast majority of flash
produced past '08-09 is AS3. That's the majority of current content on this board.

Lightspark was unusable when I tried it. Pretty unfortunate since I'd rather use software that
respects muh freedoms more.
