[_] From the archives! AMM !AMM.FiWTOc 3108296 This is another neat piece from my dropbox - the snowflake system used in 0x40 Hues of Winter. It was made from scratch, and it's the tidiest piece of code in the entire Hues "codebase". I'm proud of it, really. The flakes vary in size (and weight) and are pulled down by gravity. You'll also note the cloudy green/red texture shifting along: that's a texture generated with Perlin noise. (If you weren't aware, this is quite common in procedural things and honestly damn clever!) The flakes' velocities are adjusted by the R&G channels, giving them a nice sort-of-uniform randomness. Having every flake going to a random direction would of course "work", but this way there's a clear structure of a wind! The white lines show the main area of the simulation; it extends to both sides, too, to allow flakes to wander away and back of the view. This SWF doesn't adjust the area automatically, but you can see it in Hues by making the window smaller and then bigger; erasing all the flakes. Marked for deletion (old).

>> [_] Anon 3108421 You're doing the things that keep Flash a relevant format. Don't ever stop what you're doing. HTML5 will make SWF irrelevant and obsolete. But don't ever stop. I love you deeply.
