Any number you chose will, after subtracting the sum of its digits, be a multiple of 9. 9, 18,
27, etc. has the same regift, which is the one the flash will 'predict.'

I knew that, but I just realized all of the multiples of 9 are the same gift. I didn't see that
they repeated.

69. 6+9 is 15. 69 minus 15 is 54, a multiple of 9.

I'm too lazy to write the proof, but what's above is correct, an 2 digit integer subtracts the
individual digits results in a number that is a multiple of 9
hence why all the items that are a multiple of 9 are the same
>> [_] Anonymous 11/19/09(Thu)16:15 No.1119212
i didnt do any math, just looked at one of em and she still guessed it right
>> [_] Anonymous 11/19/09(Thu)16:17 No.1119213

10x + y - x - y
= 10x - x
= (10-1) x
= 9x
q.e.d.

proof that /f/'s main audience is younger than 18:
They don't know basic middle school math.

I think i'm doing it wrong. It hasn't been the right one yet. srsly.

Read the instructions.
You're supposed to pick a random 2 digit number, then subtract the sum of the first and second
digit.
Doing so will guarantee that you get 9,18,27,36,45,54,63,72 or 81, which are all the same item.

I wasn't even doing the math and it still guessed it right!

Interestingly, 90 and 99 also have the "correct" gift, even though they can never come up.
>> [_] Anonymous 11/19/09(Thu)19:55 No.1119347
its pretty simple, it just has a few sets of number that can only be right.
so 10-19 will always be 9
20-29 will always be 18
30-39 will always be 27
40-19 will always be 36
and so on. It just means theres only one answer, and its always swapped out randomly.

Kept getting them every time I came up with a new number. So I just thought the same number every
time.
NOW I AM THE WINNER BITCH.
>> [_] Anonymous 11/19/09(Thu)20:37 No.1119378
I didn't even pick a number, I just chose 49. She knows nothing.
