  Collecting ice cubes fuels your special meter. Trust me, you'll need it later on. Once you reach
  a certain point, you'll be up against a boss fight. It's really hard.

  Soooo I have the special refilling by a bajillion points every time you collect a jewel, I can
  get a gazillion points just bombing everything to death, and I can get the background character
  naked...but I haven't figured out what the game mechanics are supposed to be for unlocking
  characters or the things under the "quest" option.
