File: Data and Picard.swf-(9.55 MB, 640x368, Loop) [_] Anon 3262348 /f/ isn't flowing that fast.. >> [_] Anon 3262352 >># none of the boards are On /vp/ there was a week or so where we were getting repeatedly spammed by a botnet, and after the mods would clear all the furry porn the board would take basically til the next night's botnet spam to get back up to 10 pages. I thought it was maybe just due to the spammer, but now that you mention it it does seem to be just as bad here. I posted a flash at 8pm on friday, and it's still here. >> [_] Anon 3262363 >># i think 4chan has too many boards myself. instead of having 3 inactive boards with very specific themes i'd would put them together to 1 active board with a overlapping theme. the new board's activity would even be greater than the sum of the old boards since activity breeds more activity and the old posters get exposed to more threads. i stil dont understand why admin thought the newest /bant/ board was a good idea, talk about redundancy >> [_] Anon 3262365 >># did he start doing these self-inserts because copyright reality suddenly hit him? all those audio samples are still illegal to use. nigger rap haven't been able to sample freely since the 90s >> [_] Anon 3262366 Something about the repetitive gibberish clips this guy ends up creating really pisses me off. DarkMateria did it better like 14 years ago. >> [_] Anon 3262367 >># in one of his livestreams he said that nobody has bothered him yet, and he releases all his albums for free on bandcamp also there are like 2 videos just with him, this one and wizard of meh, or did I forget something? >> [_] Anon 3262369 >># made a post on /e/ yesterday and thread was on the front page for 4 hours without anybody else posting in the thread /wsg/ is also a pretty slow one usually on /pol/ so in comparison other boards are incredibly slow >># every board is a part of /a/ already >> [_] op 3262373 apparently 4chan is dying, now that memes roam freely throughout the net there isnt much need for us anymore... >> [_] Anon 3262374 >># There was never a need. 4chan is the Australia of the internet. We were put here to be contained and built a civilization out of it. >> [_] Anon 3262376 >># I really like that "Australia of the internet" metaphor. I think a lot of it has to do with the shifting of the internet itself. In the beginning the internet was a place of anonymity and open communication where you could say what you wanted with very little fear. 4chan embraced that and raised it to an artform in /b. Now, though, the tides have changed and the internet is an attention whoring medium where real names and real info aren't dug for, they're sitting right on the surface, and just like real life we're stifled by the prospect of committing social and career suicide with an errant comment. 4chan is still a bastion of anonymity, but perhaps subconsciously, even here, we feel how it has slipped away, and so 4chan becomes less lively as a result. >> [_] Anon 3262402 >># who the fuck comes to flash to make that intelligent of a comment? or that long of one either. >> [_] Anon 3262420 >># I think It's just the other way around. In the faster boards discussion moves too fast for anything but the general idea of a post to be taken into account, people realize this and reduce their arguments more and more until everything turns into a chain of premade slurs and slogans that are repeated like mantras day after day. Not only that but posts that are not on the "tail" (last 10-15 posts) are too often entirely ignored. On slower boards informative posts are far more common and both of the previously mentioned problems are less abundant, however the lack of active users means that the userbase is spread over many threads that span for months and often turn into image dumps. Meanwhile in /f/ the amount of threads and their duration is short enough for attention to be focused, while being slow enough for coherent conversation. In this situation even if long discussions are rare, a single post is sure to be payed attention to by many, which gives the possibility of talking to the passerby instead of to potential conversers. On the other hand the disjointed nature of this kind of discourse means it will be frequently misinterpreted, but even that can be avoided by putting sufficient care on the message. >> [_] Anon 3262421 >># *and their duration are >> [_] Anon 3262431 >># the better question is what adhd medicine is he tripping on right now. >> [_] Chiu 3262448 >># WE DRINK RITALIN!!
