The performance of early builds was promising, and Adobe seemed to be dedicated to making it a success. Since then much has changed. adobe even briefly launched their own store where you could buy flash games (similar to an app store). i think it was in 2012? but they shut it down around a year later. no profit no interest, but i wonder if it could have been made profitable in some way. of course Apple and Google are also to blame for the decline of flash with the refusal to let swf files onto iPhone and refusal to let swf files onto YouTube. and then again in 2017 all the major browsers banded together and decided that people shouldn't be allowed to enjoy flash files after 2020, again an abandonment of flash instead of fixing it. there's no reason why a browser shouldn't be able to play a swf file natively just like it is able to "play" a jpg or an audio file. any issues can be fixed but of course it's easier to abandon. >> Anonymous 10mar2019(su)00:34 No.67257 B P3R2 >>67238 but ... haven't you heard ... every swf file is full of VIRUSES only by buying games from proprietary app stores via googles HTML5 can we be safe from l33t hack0rs on our spyware OS >> Anonymous 10mar2019(su)02:37 No.67261 A P4R3 >>67257 we're lucky these megacorps are there to protect us |
