here's what you're missing. the mlp cancer was a cancer yes but bronies are not exclusive
bronies. if you isolate these people on their own board they WILL browse other boards less and as
a result you get less posters looking over other /b/ threads.
confinement boards are bad. but overlapping boards are even worse. /s4s/, /trash/, /bant/ are all
boards that should be removed and just redirect to /b/. /vg/ should also be removed, just keep
more threads on /v/ instead and prioritize deletion of less replied threads. there are many other
boards that should be deleted and merged into a single board, more eyes on all threads are a good
thing and more people on one board is a good thing.

I am absolutely sure you weren't on /v/ before the /vg/ split.
And besides that, nowadays a /v/ thread already lasts a whooping 10-15 minutes without a reply
before it 404s. Traffic is the opposite of quality. It ensures the only threads that survive are
cheap clickbait that attracts a lot of attention and takes zero effort to reply to.

General threads basically function a forum with namefagging and there is always one up. So people
