Argentina started a war over some disputed islands off their coast to distract their people from
growing domestic issues, banking on the UK's changing policies (they were in the middle of
decolonization, granting independence left and right), them being so far away from the islands
and possibly the US intervening and telling the bongs off if they tried to do anything about it.
Unexpectedly, the Iron Lady put her foot down and BTFO the Argies, which they remain butthurt
about to this very day as the Falklands remain under british control
