Let's just talk about the word loli for a moment.
Loli comes from the word Lolita, which is a female name of Spanish origin, typically said to a
  baby with the name Lola.
In Spanish, LO and LI would be pronounced "low lee", not "law lee". In English, lolli is
pronounced law lee because there's two Ls, so if there's only one L, it would be low lee.
Now, loli as we know it, come from the Japanese word lolicon, and the Japanese would pronounce it
"roh ree cone", but because the Japanese are fucking stupid and can't pronounce Ls correctly, it
would still be pronounced "low lee con" if they could.
Those that pronounce loli as "law lee" are wrong on three different grammatical counts from three
different languages on opposite ends of the Earth and should be shamed for being dumb.

Funny video given the context though.

No, the video is dumb with and without context.

People pronounce it like LOL because referring to little girls as "lolis" in the western world
has become an internet meme, and for internet memes its natural to use pronunciation that follows
  previously established memes like LOL.

I'm Spanish and took Japanese classes from a native and this is mostly bullshit.
  >In Spanish, LO and LI would be pronounced "low lee", not "law lee"
It's neither but it is far closer to the latter than the former. As you put it later it would be
best represented loh lee, this works because vowel wise Spanish and Japanese are nearly identical.
So that covers two bases, about the pronounciation in English don't even begin to pretend that
there is a way of telling how a word is said just by looking at its written form. Traditionally
english keeps both the phonetics and the orthography of the words it borrows, as such by
definition it is said loh lee.

Summing up, the way they say it in the video is slightly off but far closer to what it actually
sounds like than your idiotic "low lee"

Americans pronounce and spell words in English wrong all the time. They took it so far to
misspell words intentionally just to differentiate themselves from the brits, which is a shame
since there was logic in how English was spelled (dialogue, behaviour, colour, neighbour, botched
by US dialog/behavior/color/neighbor yet sometimes they still keep the "-our" spelling)

  >They took it so far to misspell words intentionally just to differentiate themselves from the
  brits,
  You've got it completely backwards.
Brits intentionally changed their spelling and pronunciation in order to sound different from
other Brits. Because brits are status obsessed retards.
