if the left continues with their current book burning and erasing of history saying something
like this will soon not just be a joke

No one is trying to erase history. Not in America, anyways. The sooner you abandon such delusions
and look at the world for what it is, and listen to people's words for what they are, instead of
what you wish them to be, you will live a much happier, fuller life. There are a great many evils
in the world, worthy of fighting; But that which you are referring to is not one of them. Please;
Choose your battles more wisely.

I wonder how many former soviets complained of history being erased when they were tearing down
statues of Lenin and Stalin.

history? the VAST majority of the confederate statues in the US that are being torn were erected
during the reign of Jim Crow laws in the US. A lot were also erected exactly around the the time
of the Civil Rights Movement. I'm pretty sure they don't qualify as something worth
remembering...? I understand the fear of it being a slippery slope, but these statues are pretty
worthless

if u wanna talk about history being erased, try the fact that theres literally no museums for
colonial history in most major european countries. like u may be doing aight in US with racism
shit (outside of the justice system and police ofc) but if ure black in europe youre lucky if u
or anybody else is ever taught anything about your history in primary or secondary school
of course most people arent black and it's only one part of our political history, but u know,
it's not an unimportant part, and currently it takes up next to nothing in the general populace's
historical education / consiousness
where i'm from people are only just in the past decade or so coming to terms with the fact that
like oh yeaah we also did the whole colonies and slaves thing it's not just the evil brits and
the stupid americans, even though we *still* have colonies.
there's a bunch of shit u can read if ure not just concern trolling about "erasing history", read
up on subaltern studies, u dont need to read that dirty commie gramsci (unless u wanna), Spivak
and Stuart Hall are the big names

Americans are a truly lost cause.

honestly this fucking erasing of history shit is just the most disingenous shit it triggers me bad
like u wanna talk about shit that went into the memory hole? it's not the fucking founding
fathers or the royals or your fucking civil war or whatever u stupid idiots care about
it's the fact that my father was shot at, with live fuckign ammunition at a protest 25 years ago,
not in some asshole of the world but in major masthead of liberal democracy denmark, and
absolutely nobody my age has heard about this
it's the fact that my country reintroduced the death penalty to retroactively punish people after
the occupation, nice humans rights u got there
it's seeing not even the liberal media giving a shit that like half of trumps cabinet was
actively involved with doing war crimes or coups in the 80s, because they liked that bit about
reagan and nixon
it's seeing people actively responsible for getting my country (not even getting into the US
here) involved in an illegal war, and among other things handing people over to the US to be
tortured, still getting airtime even though they fucking knew what they were doing
u lazy freaks are picking the absolutely dumbest things to get riled up about, just smooth
brained idiot shit, get some real fucking issues to care about

Every fucking part of Europe was colonized at some point. Italy colonized half of Europe, and it
was itself colonized by Byzantines, French, Spaniards, and Austrians, who also colonized the
Balkans and so on.
We know history. We just don't let "muh slavery" live in our heads rent free like blacks do.
>>3431831
Your personal anecdotes, however painful they are to you, are not history.

police shooting at protestors isnt and wasnt a personal anecdote, it's political history.
if the police started shooting at BLM protests tomorrow, would u denigrate that as a personal
tragedy? no of course not. even though this happened in a smaller country than yours (if ure
american) this is no different
there's literally a police museum on the block where it happened and it doesnt mention the event
with a single word
and if youre actually interested in understanding why people tend to lend the colonization of the
non-european world a different import (outside of it being pretty recent history, compared to
what ure talking about (and also like, eastern europeans definitely have that whole "victims of
ussr occupation shit" going on so it's not exclusively black people)) then maybe u should take me
up on my recommendation to read some postcolonial theory like stuart hall or fanon
like u dont think colonized africans have had that exact same thought u made in your post?
discussing why people in the carribean, africa, or people in SEA can't just let go of colonial
history is a pretty major thing in those countries/cultures themselves
but i mean, u callign it "muh slavery" gives me the thought that ure probably not that interested
so whatever
debate is for the audience not the participants
