Every flash I open just shows a black screen, sound seems to be playing normally though. Am I the only one with this issue? Is there some plugin I should install to get back in the game? I don't want to say goodbye to this board just yet >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)14:55:12 No.3419256 >>3419254 well first, what browser are you using? it shouldn't happen with the flash projector >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)15:05:58 No.3419257 >>3419256 Firefox. Isn't flash projector a standalone thing? I mean sure I can download and play swf files, but it's kindof a pain compared to just opening it in firefox. >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)15:13:22 No.3419258 >>3419257 lol download files to a temp folder make it so they open automatically with projector run a temp cleaner every so often (maybe windows does it itself) lol, what a "pain" if you want actual flash, use a better browser I switched just for flash, best decision ever >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)15:15:09 No.3419259 >>3419257 oh you must have clicked on "update" that's popping every now and again up there in the corner or maybe you just let it update on its own whenever it feels like it? you absolute dunce >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)16:49:22 No.3419264 >>3419254 Press Alt > Tools > Add-ons > Plugins > Shockwave Flash "..." button > Make sure Ask to Activate is checked. Still not working? Then press the same "..." button and select Options. Uncheck "Block dangerous and intrusive Flash content". I have it checked and it works for me here on /f/. I have Firefox 73.0.1 (64-bit) btw. Still not working? Press WinKey and type "control panel", enter it. See if you have an icon named "Flash Player (32-bit)". If not maybe you need to reinstall flash? I'm not sure if that icon only appears if you install the ActiveX version of flash however. Firefox doesn't use the ActiveX version of flash. Check if this file is on your computer: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF64_32_0_0_330.dll If it isn't you probably need to reinstall flash (the NPAPI version). If it is... maybe try reinstalling Firefox? Also friendly reminder that if you use Firefox ESR you'll probably still be able to view flash in your browser for at least a few more years. >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)17:35:28 No.3419267 >>3419259 nice attitude, you must be so much fun to hang out with >>3419264 I checked off your list, most of it seemed to be in place. I ended up installing the firefox ESR that you suggested, which seems to work fine! Thanks anon! >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)17:39:58 No.3419269 >>3419267 thanks for the lovely words, just don't forget to keep your software on autoupdate so there won't be any further interferences >> [_] Anonymous 02/24/20(Mon)19:30:39 No.3419282 >>3419267 I wonder what the real issue was for you, I mean I have regular Firefox (with auto-updates) and it works just like it did last week. If Firefox really are already rolling out flash disables for some people Mozilla are worse than I thought because they've said it will be supported until the end of 2020 and they should stick to what they've said no matter what. >> [_] Anonymous 02/25/20(Tue)00:32:01 No.3419320 >>3419254 If you're getting blackscreen, that's a system issue specific to you and your machine. NOTE PLEBS: "End of Support" DOES NOT MEAN "disabling your Flash experience"... it simply means, Flash is NO LONGER SUPPORTED. Updated. No more effort to include extended functionality in modern browsers. it DOES NOT mean anyone is taking it away, or making your shit black. Try updating your system, rolling BACK your system, stop using a potato, or install Gentoo. There is no logical reason for your Flash display to be universally black, other than your CPU has tapeworms. |
