You can get used to it.
I'm doing it this way since my first day on /f/, so "death of flash" almost didn't affect me at
all.

news flash! a newfag in /f/ voices a shitty opinion
>> [_] Anonymous 02/04/21(Thu)06:26:27 No.3459460
Hilarious.
People been shitting on flash for decades but now it's the best thing ever.
People been hyping and begging for Ruffle for years and now it's the worse thing ever.
Newfags and other schizos trying to fit in, that's the worst thing in all this.

the problem is they are using a browser that still can play flash files but the downside is that
it then can't handle webassembly so it freezes the browser
/f/ should address the issue by for example restoring the old behaviour of [embed] and adding a
new checkbox at the top of /f/, which sets a cookie to make [embed] use Ruffle
personally i'm surprised that people are using [embed] at all for flash files, way back it took a
year before i even noticed the option was added to the board.

>restoring the old behaviour of [embed]
They shouldn't cater to a minority of minorities imo. And definitely shouldn't promote the use of
outdated browers with vulnerable plugins.
Playing flashes in a new tab works fine for people insane enough to use the flash plugin.
Ruffle is getting better and better with each passing day. Not even 6 months ago it couldn't even
play the most basic of animations on 4chan.org/flash.

nigger this is the flash board
you use flash
if you think flash is not up to your gaylord webbetry standards then maybe go to /wsg/?
why should anyone be forced to use the utmost least to all alternatives of playing swfs that is
ruffle, the "at least I'm living inside a hole in the ground instead of just on the ground" option
if you cater to rufflefags this board will inevitably become /ruffle/
and then you can say goodbye to the comfiness that defines /f/ to this day
make it easy for people with no knowledge about browser security or how to copy 1 file to your
system folder to visit the board and then it will be a fast travel downhill considering the still
kind decent userbase, /f/ will become like every other board on 4um
(nice reddit spacing btw)

>They shouldn't cater to a minority of minorities imo
they absolutely SHOULD because we need every oldfag to stick around on /f/. the people that
bother to still use adobe's flash plugin are the same people that are most likely to make new
content and keep the board alive with replies (responding to newfags's questions etc).
refusing to implement something as trivial as a on/off cookie for Ruffle would be really dumb if
it increases the risk of these oldfags leaving. it's just so god damned easy to implement.

No one still on /f/ is gonna up and leave because they now need to use the middle mouse button if
they hate ruffle. I would prefer if mods added a toggle between old [Embed] and ruffle [Embed]
but saying that ruffle embed will force people to leave is absurd.

I thought it was more a tug-of-war between Flash and Ruffle causing everything to choke

It's downright logical to have a toggle right now considering ruffle is still incomplete. It's
made strides, yes, but it can't play everything just yet.
