  Anyone playing Cyberpunk 2077?

I've heard it's so buggy that people are questioning whether or not the success of Witcher 3 was
  just due to luck.

Marked for deletion (old).

I played it for a few hours. I didn't run into any major bugs, just what you'd expect from a
typical open world game. Worst I saw was a couple t-poses. I dropped it though because it felt
like they spent all their time making a framework for a game but forgot to fill it up. The
police/crime system is the biggest example of this. If you so much as punch someone, the police
instantly spawn 3 feet behind you and try to kill you regardless of where you are or whether or
not anyone else saw. They endlessly spawn and all you have to do to lose them is run 2 blocks
away because they despawn. This is with established lore that the police are so spread thin that
they have to outsource work. They don't have the resources to care about some no-name getting
murdered. The police don't even have driving AI, so there's no chasing. If you're in a car and
you're driving on the sidewalk, you can endlessly drive across town running people over and
  nothing comes of it.

The whole world feels like that, there's hardly any interaction and all your actions are
  restricted. Even the dialogue is:
  1. Continue the conversation.
  2. Ask a question before continuing the conversation.

It'll need some No Man's Sky level of dev improvements and mods, so I won't bother touching it
for at least a couple years. Right now the game is just Far Cry pretending to be GTA with a
  cyberpunk aesthetic thrown on top.

Damn, and here I thought the bugs were its main problem. I'll definitely pirate it before
deciding if I should buy or not. I assume you were playing on PC? Most of the bugginess seems to
  be on console.

My opinion of GOG has changed a lot these last couple of weeks, especially after I read that they
catered to China and refused to list a Taiwanese game over the text "Xi Jinping Winnie-the-Pooh
  moron".
  https://reclaimthenet.org/gog-devotion-censor-china/

Everybody knows Xi Jinping is a moron that actually does look like Winnie the Pooh, and Taiwan
has just as much reason to hate China as the rest of the world. In fact they have even more of a
reason since Chinese military are performing practice drills of invading Taiwan. I mean let them
have their little political Easter egg while they can, sheesh.

Honestly, if I were in their shoes, I'd cater to China too. Damned be morals, that's a lot of
  money.
At the same time, if I were a game developer, I'd love to protest by inserting anti-china or
pro-taiwan shit in my game. Imagine if a ton of huge game developers started doing that.

That's some evil mindset you have there. China literally have concentration camps running and as
long as everybody just bends to them nothing will change.

Also over half of China still live in extreme poverty, that market is a facade. Never enter the
Chinese market, they will just steal everything you've got.
  https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/28/1-in-5-companies-say-china-stole-their-ip-within-the
  -last-year-cnbc.html

I can't remember the name of the car company but it launched a series of cars in China and just
when they were about to start doing business they found out that all their technology had been
patented by someone else and they got kicked out of the market.

played it for 26 hours these past 5 days. Thoroughly enjoying it. The bugs have mainly bee either
disrupted dialogue or my car fucking wrecking everything when I call it. The latter's kinda fun
  sometimes

fun bugs can be nice sometimes

too bad crowbcat has stopped making videos (i think) or maybe he could have made a nice
compilation like he did for mass effect andromeda in 2017 https://youtu.be/7KWkao73HuU

Whether or not a game platform sells games or not won't affect those in concentration camps one
bit. Even with half of China in extreme poverty, it's still a huge market, especially in the
entertainment realm. Also they can just as easily steal ips even if they aren't allowed in China,
  that has zero bearing.
Trade and political catering? Yeah, no, absolutely fucked.
But games? Not morally damaging enough for me to actively care.

  Sounds like an iD game.

  >won't affect those in concentration camps one bit
that's where you're completely wrong, if every business shut off from china that's when they
would feel the ramifications of their actions and only then would we see any change. not only
would it hurt china financially but their population would also miss out on all these western
games and movies, maybe in their anger they'd break through the propaganda and censorship. if
even just a tenth of the country would rise up against the CCP they wouldn't stand a chance.

segway got screwed over when they tried to expand into china, they stole their tech and pushed
  them out.
there was also a us wind turbine manufacturer that tried expanding into china, their partners
stole are their tech and screwed them over.

legally you must have a chinese company work with you when you expand into china, you can't just
work in china yourself unless ccp grants you an exception i guess but then it would be harder for
them to steal your tech so why would they.

if you have more than 50 employees in china your company MUST have a chinese communist party
branch. most companies of any size are required to have a Communist Party representative serving
  on their board of directors.

stay the F U C K out of china, the population numbers look tempting but it's all a ruse

  Don't play it

NPC spawn/despawn (including civ & cops) is stupid and absolutely not immersive and ruins
everything. GTA 3 has better civ/cops/IA management (or even GTA2 ffs)
Gun fight is not smooth and borderlands 1 (on console) had a better feeling to it
And performance issue with low-end gear

It's sad because the world design is really making me want to start again the game... It's not
finished, wait one year or so before buying it. (No man's sky style)
