I've heard it's so buggy that people are questioning whether or not the success of Witcher 3 was just due to luck. Marked for deletion (old). >> [_] Anonymous 12/18/20(Fri)21:38:10 No.3450175 I played it for a few hours. I didn't run into any major bugs, just what you'd expect from a typical open world game. Worst I saw was a couple t-poses. I dropped it though because it felt like they spent all their time making a framework for a game but forgot to fill it up. The police/crime system is the biggest example of this. If you so much as punch someone, the police instantly spawn 3 feet behind you and try to kill you regardless of where you are or whether or not anyone else saw. They endlessly spawn and all you have to do to lose them is run 2 blocks away because they despawn. This is with established lore that the police are so spread thin that they have to outsource work. They don't have the resources to care about some no-name getting murdered. The police don't even have driving AI, so there's no chasing. If you're in a car and you're driving on the sidewalk, you can endlessly drive across town running people over and nothing comes of it. The whole world feels like that, there's hardly any interaction and all your actions are restricted. Even the dialogue is: 1. Continue the conversation. 2. Ask a question before continuing the conversation. It'll need some No Man's Sky level of dev improvements and mods, so I won't bother touching it for at least a couple years. Right now the game is just Far Cry pretending to be GTA with a cyberpunk aesthetic thrown on top. >> [_] Anonymous 12/18/20(Fri)22:34:58 No.3450184 >>3450175 Damn, and here I thought the bugs were its main problem. I'll definitely pirate it before deciding if I should buy or not. I assume you were playing on PC? Most of the bugginess seems to be on console. My opinion of GOG has changed a lot these last couple of weeks, especially after I read that they catered to China and refused to list a Taiwanese game over the text "Xi Jinping Winnie-the-Pooh moron". https://reclaimthenet.org/gog-devotion-censor-china/ Everybody knows Xi Jinping is a moron that actually does look like Winnie the Pooh, and Taiwan has just as much reason to hate China as the rest of the world. In fact they have even more of a reason since Chinese military are performing practice drills of invading Taiwan. I mean let them have their little political Easter egg while they can, sheesh. >> [_] Anonymous 12/18/20(Fri)22:52:11 No.3450187 >>3450184 Honestly, if I were in their shoes, I'd cater to China too. Damned be morals, that's a lot of money. At the same time, if I were a game developer, I'd love to protest by inserting anti-china or pro-taiwan shit in my game. Imagine if a ton of huge game developers started doing that. >> [_] Anonymous 12/18/20(Fri)22:58:21 No.3450190 >>3450187 That's some evil mindset you have there. China literally have concentration camps running and as long as everybody just bends to them nothing will change. Also over half of China still live in extreme poverty, that market is a facade. Never enter the Chinese market, they will just steal everything you've got. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/28/1-in-5-companies-say-china-stole-their-ip-within-the |
