[_] Whats going to happen to /f/ next month? Anonymous 11/14/20(Sat)20:32:12 No.3445705
So, with google removing all supports for flashes, whats going to happen? I mean I'm sure the
board will be left alone and we can still download flashes and play them privately but that's
kinda annoying.
Are there any extensions or shit in the works that would allow in-browser playing of flashes?
anything the mods could implement to /f/ to make it automatic?
dont really know a lot about this t b h

most that will happen is that some people who are too lazy to mess with a couple settings so that
they can keep using flash will get filtered

keep an outdated browser that still supports flash and use it to only browse /f/

it doesn't even have to be outdated
palemoon or basilisk get regular security updates and are a true alternative to modern firefox
you just need a browser that isn't mozilla, google or microsoft and you're good to go honestly
that said, any news on the plugin killswitch and how to circumvent it?

I assume Firefox Extended Support Release will be able to use the flash plugin for a while longer.
An old version of the flash plugin since the brainlets at Adobe thought it was a good idea to
brick the most secure version of the plugin.

It's already been talked about many times, but there's ruffle and currently another imageboard,
22chan, has already implemented it on their /f/.
Ruffle's a bit bitchy and currently doesn't really support AS3, but it's a work-in-progress and
it's better than nothing. If they keep updating it then soon we should have nothing to worry
about. If hiro doesn't just bin this board, that is.
