same problem here with me
been coming to /f/ less lately because of it
been a problem even longer for me since I use developer edition
and since it's just this site, there's 0 help to be found as to how to fix it
>> [_] Anonymous 08/31/20(Mon)17:53:09 No.3438143
Reposting this from the last time this issue came up.
The issue is actually something 4chan started doing a while back which is setting the x-frame
header option to DENY which prevents any flash file from loading on the 4chan domain. Firefox
used to ignore these header settings but the recent update made it start applying them.
Current workaround is to install an addon called simple-modify-headers and configure it as
follows:
URL Patterns: https://i.4cdn.org/f/*
Action: Delete
Header Field Name: x-frame-options
Header Field Value: null
Apply On: Response
Start it up and flash files should start working again. Be sure to send feedback telling Hiro
that flashes are fucked and maybe they'll fix the issue, if not then we're just stuck with it for
the foreseeable future.

It worked for me, then I went to Help > About and saw a button that said "restart ff to update".
I pressed the button and now (on FF 80.0) flashes no longer work on /f/. (not fullscreen or
embed.)
still works on swfchan (both fullscreen and embed)

the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash
content to these new open formats.

Just download them and play in standalone player. More secure too

how? don't claim it if you can't say how.

Not him but it tells you when a file tries to communicate with the internet and stops it from
doing so unless you allow it. dunno if 4chan does the latter.

guess that depends on the program used to display flash. i think the default for windows firewall
is to let outgoing connections go through without a prompt.

also: palemoon browser here, everything works as intended and will beyond 2020 ;3
>>3438220
the flash projector is more sandboxed and blocks connections in itself most of the time
there is an option for that, but I don't know if there is a similar option in the browser flash
player settings
also: not being inside a browser framework most likely helps to prevent specific overflow errors

if nothing else playing flash outside your browser will get you much higher framerate. but this
is part of the companies' strategy to gimp flash so much that people won't even complain once
it's unavailable. because "it worked so poorly anyway".
is palemoon still unable to play trailer videos on the epic store website?
>> [_] Anonymous 09/01/20(Tue)13:42:04 No.3438246
just use the flashplayer debugger
>> [_] Anonymous 09/01/20(Tue)13:43:27 No.3438247
>>3438244
idk, haven't tried it since, but I must say, that even if that never gets fixed, I'll gladly take
that as a payoff to continue using flash
biggest problem is now that Adobe has gimped the flash plugin itself to shut down after 2020,
still hoping anons can fix that
ps: huh, looks like they maybe fixed the video thing, I just opened a random game page on the
store and the video played just fine
