  o Board ceases to exist.
o Small group of enthusiasts keep reposting the same decades-old files everyone has already seen
  into eternity.

Are you an atheist or theist?

No one knows, better question: What exactly is happening to flash after 2020?
Animating vectors will continue with Adobe Animate, which I've read can export to .swf but can
you do actionscript with it? The plugin itself has a killswitch for after 2020 so will an old
version be needed to use it or only an alternative browser? If the former then where can it be
downloaded? Will it be usable even in new versions of mainstream browsers like Chrome and
Firefox? Will Adobe remove the projector/debugger download from their site?

>> [_] Anonymous 10/18/20(Sun)22:07:19 No.3442949

According to success.swf mods are interested in keeping it afloat.
I don't think they care so much about what Adobe says as to delete a legacy board like /f/.

Chrome says it will not support .swf at all after December 2020. I don't know about alternatives,
but I'm already looking into re-downloading the latest version of Netscape. Unfortunately I think
I also read something about Windows update removing any traces of flash after that date as well.

Virtual machines are your friend. Oracle VirtualBox is a free download, old Windows ISOs can be
found on your favorite torrent site. Keep important files in a VM with networking disabled.

  Yes

flash killswitch kinda sucks, but at least we have ruffle to look forward to

Set your computer date to 2022, flash blocks content from playing.
I'm making a backup of the files just in case it uninstalls itself, but after the expiration date
probably all that needs to be done is set the date back to 2020... hopefully.

>> [_] Anonymous 10/19/20(Mon)08:57:34 No.3442993

you can literally just pipe swf to mpv or mpc-hc can you not?

This question is asked weekly. NO, /f/ is not disappearing. It's an upload board. Its function
will stay exactly the same, minus the embed function.

Nobody is removing /f/, unless something crazy happens. Even the text only boards were part of
4chan years after they "died". There will probably be some sort of ruffle after the support
completely drops, but i am sure it will be fine.

Pretty much just boards like these. https://4-ch.net/4ch

I don't remember what different topics they had though, i think there was at least a programming
  related text board?

>> [_] Anonymous 10/19/20(Mon)13:15:39 No.3443010

Couldn't they just switch this place over to HTML5/javascript instead of flash?

  board ceases to exist
small group of enthusiasts keep reposting the same decades-old files and sometimes someone posts
a file abusing an unfixed bug to install malware
