I think it is comfortable for sfw artists to dismiss what nsfw did. This isn't coming from an
nsfw animator, I am ecchi at best.
Looking back to early 2000s works it was mostly kids playing on flash making very poorly drawn
works. Meanwhile hentai flashes were trying to match the styles of what they were parodying,
pushing the bar exponentially higher. Both in terms of art quality and in in program art quality.
I think the indipendent commjnity has still yet to reach some of the bars some of those guys set.
If the independent flash animatore would have kept pushing the work forward and would establish a
production workflow and distribution of swfs, flash would have had to comply to capitalize on
that, and swfs would have likely gotten to be a distribution format.
I might be completely stretching it, but now we can only say what if.

flash's popularity certainly rose a lot thanks to porn.
there's of course all the free flash porn online made by fire souls not meaning to make money,
who would have never installed Flash Pro if they didn't want to make porn. and in turn they would
then never have made tutorials or inspired others to also learn flash.
but japanese studios released many, many non-free flash porn games of high quality. most of which
requires multiple swf files to function so they aren't shared much.

I also noticed the japanese using different methods like having a directory outside the swf that
the swf can acess, and extra swfs. The western ajimators always complained about space, how calm
none of them untilized any of that?

seems like it, they usually export the master swf as a exe projector file and then the external
flash plugin isn't needed. (the swf can be extracted from the exe with a tool.)
im guessing the art is mostly video and the flash part of the game is navigation between several
smaller looping video clips.

from 2019 was actually released 2014. so i don't know if they still use flash to make these
things, although if they export the master to exe i don't see why they would abandon something
that works and that they are used to working with.

rather than an engine.I have seen a bunch of smaller japanese flashes that were like that. Not
that I diss on raster. I work with raster in flash, and window girl is one of my favorite flashes
